How many artists do you have?

We currently have two resident artists, Sam and Millie. 
Sam is the studio owner, he has nearly a decade of tattoo experience and is our fineline specialist, although don’t be deterred if fineline isn’t your thing- he can try his hand at anything!
Millie is our resident artist, she has been tattooing for three years and leans towards illustrative black and grey work predominantly. Although traditional, big bold lines will always hold space in her heart and though she’s loathe to admit it, she can turn her hand to those finer linework details too!

We also have a recurring guest artist Kellz Morgan, who is an incredible black work and realism artist from London. She is absolutely fantastic and the best addition to the studio. You can check out her work on her instagram @kellzmorgantattoos

Question 2

What if I don’t know which artist is best for me?

Accepted Answer

If you’re not sure which artist is best for the job, it’s no stress because we do! If you’re not sure then you can fill out an enquiry form for the studio as a whole and we can assign your enquiry to the artist most suited to do your design the justice it deserves.

Our artists are humble enough to know when the other may do a better job of your design and gladly so! It’s important to us that every client leaves with a tattoo completed to the highest quality that they can be truly happy with.

Do you have a piercer?

We do! We are lucky to be able to say that Gilhespy’s Ink is home to the wonderful Pierced by Cassie.

Cassie is a fully licensed and insured piercer completing above waist piercings with implant grade titanium jewellery using only needles (no piercing guns here!). You can check her out on her instagram account @piercedbycassie which is also linked from our instagram !

What if I specifically need a female/male artist?

Accepted Answer

Getting a tattoo is an intimate experience and your comfort matters to us. We understand that some clients may feel more at ease with an artist of a particular gender- whether it’s due to personal preference, past experiences, or intimate placement of a tattoo. You’re always welcome to request whoever you feel most comfortable with.

Both of our artists are highly skilled across a wide range of styles. Sometimes we may suggest the artist who specialises in the type of tattoo you’re after- not because the other artist can’t do it, but because we want you to get the best possible result. The final choice will always be yours.

Whatever you need, we’ll work with you to make sure you feel safe, comfortable, and confident throughout your tattoo experience.

Question 5

What if I can’t book within your opening hours?

Accepted Answer

Our opening hours are flexible. The hours found online are the times in which you are generally guaranteed to find someone in the studio, however we do take appointments outside of those hours if necessary. 
We have worked it this way as our artists have families and children, so this avoids them sitting in the studio outside of those hours unless they definitely have bookings. This allows our artists to maintain a healthy work/life balance and we all know that happy and balanced artists make the best art!
