When can I see the design?

Designs are shown on the day of the appointment. 
If you would like something very specific, please include a good mount of information in your booking form.
I may send over a very rough sketch/layout to you if you are getting a larger scale piece of work such as a back piece, or a more complicated/detail heavy tattoo that may take a lot of time to change.

What are your prices?

I quote by piece, based on size, detail and placement. 
Bigger pieces of work/ pieces that require  multiple sessions are charged by the hour, so send over your 
ideas and I can give you a quote :)

There are some examples on my profile of pieces I have tattooed, how much they cost and how long they took to give you a rough idea.

Question 3

Do I need my ID?

Accepted Answer

The legal age of consent for a tattoo in the UK is 18+
Please make sure you bring PHOTO ID with you.
A driving license, passport or proof of age card is great.
If I ask for ID and you can't present it, by law I will have to turn you
away and the deposit will be lost.

Question 4

What should I do to prepare for my tattoo?

Accepted Answer

- Do not drink, take drugs, take aspirin, or any other blood thinning medication at
least 24 hours before your tattoo appointment. This can push ink out and
compromise the healing process and therefore the quality of your tattoo.  
Please speak to a medical professional before coming off medication.

-Make sure to eat before your booking and bring plenty of snacks.
-Stay hydrated! Both during your tattoo appointment and before. Well hydrated skin makes for a better tattoo.
-Stay out of the sun. I cannot tattoo sunburnt skin. 
-Look after your skin. Exfoliating/moisturising the area you would like tattooing on the lead up to the appointment makes a massive difference.

Question 5

What should I wear?

Accepted Answer

Please make sure that you wear suitable clothing for the tattoo you are getting and be sure not to wear your best, white top to the appointment.
Ink can be messy and will not come out.

Refrain from wearing anything tight over the area you are getting tattooed.

Some suggestions.
- Back tattoo - A zip hoody that you can wear backwards. 
- Chest piece - Strapless top.
- Lower leg - avoid high rising boots. 
- Side of thigh/hip. - Tie bikini bottoms that can be taped to one side.

Question 6

Can I bring somebody with me?

Accepted Answer

Yes! 
Of course you can :)
Please only bring one person with you. 
The studio can get busy, especially if all artists are in at the same time.

Please be aware that anybody under the age of 18 is not permitted to be in the studio. Children will not be able to come with you so please make sure that you arrange childcare.

Question 7

What should I do for aftercare?

Accepted Answer

-I recommend Cocoa butter as aftercare.

-When you get home from your appointment, wash your tattoo with warm soapy
water, dry with a clean towel and rewrap in fresh clingfilm.

-Repeat this every 4-5 hours and then sleep with your tattoo wrapped for
the first night.

-On the second day, I recommend leaving your tattoo unwrapped and keep it
clean unless you are doing anything that may get it dirty, in which case
wrap it again.

-On the third day, again keep your tattoo clean and apply cocoa butter
twice a day until your tattoo is healed. A thin layer is sufficient.

-Please allow 4 weeks for your tattoo to completely heal. Some people heal
very quickly and some, much slower. You know your own body, but I would
recommend the full 4 weeks before swimming, baths or any activity that will
get it too sweaty.

Question 8

What do I do if I need to cancel/move my booking?

Accepted Answer

Please let me know in plenty of time if you need to rearrange so that I can try to fill the space. 
Cancellations/appointment changes will need to be done AT LEAST 72 hours before the booking is set to begin. 
Any bookings cancelled with less than 72 hours notice will require a new deposit to book. 
Deposits can only be moved to a new date ONCE.
Repeat cancellations will require a new deposit.

Question 9

Is the studio accessible?

We are on the first floor of an old Victorian building. The studio is not wheelchair accessible. 
We do have a lift to the first floor, but it is up a set of steps.
If you would like to get tattooed, but the space is inaccessible, please specify this in your booking and I will try to arrange to tattoo you at a more accessible location.

Question 10

Can I use numbing cream?

Accepted Answer

I advise against numbing cream as it can make it difficult to work with the skin/take longer to tattoo/ can affect the healing process.

Prepapring for a tattoo by getting good rest, being well fuelled and looking after the skin before the appointment are all really good ways of managing pain. 
We can take breaks during your appointment if necessary. 
I have a spray that we can use to take the edge off once your lines are done. Please let me know if you would like to use it.

-If you really need to use it, please use it please let me know in advance and only use over the counter numbing cream.

-Anybody using unregulated numbing creams will be turned away and a new deposit will be necessary to rebook.

- Any touch ups using numbing cream will be charged.
