Shaun Hogan

My style has developed from exploring many art forms, from many Indo European cultures, particulary focused on Nordic and Gallo-British historic finds, mythology and folklore.

I grew up in the small island of Jersey, one of the channel Islands, named by the Norse, which has had a varied and violent historic past. Due to its strategic positon, it has been fought over for centuries and as such, many historic artifacts from these different conquerors remain there. This mixing of cultures and beliefs has formed the merging of styles reflected in my work.

My signature gold accents reflects the treasure I draw inspiration from, combined with my family name 'coat of arms' - a black shield adorned with 3 gold rings.

I also draw every single one of my designs straight onto skin. This means I can make use of all available space and shape of the individual body and ensures all of my tattoos are one of a kind.
