What are your rates?

Accepted Answer

I price by the piece and am essentially $150/hour. I create a time and therefore price estimate based on the complexity, placement, and color of the piece. I give a small rough range of what you can expect the tattoo to cost.

Larger pieces like sleeves, can be a bit more difficult to get an exact range. I can give a rough estimate of number of sessions and cost but it can fluctuate.

Question 2

Can I see my design before the appointment?

Accepted Answer

I do not send out designs prior to the appointment unless there are elements that I am unsure of. This prevents theft and too many cooks in the kitchen (this is your tattoo not your cousin Steve’s), and is more time efficient going over it in person. 
We will have a consult or messages before booking to make sure we are on the same page for the design and I book extra time to go over the design and make any changes at the appointment.
It’s easier for me to understand any changes in person and it’s much more time efficient than messaging back and forth.

Question 3

How do I prep for my appointment?

Accepted Answer

Get a good nights sleep.

Eat a good breakfast before the appointment. Fats, carbs, and protein. Not just coffee ad a granola bar.

Moisturize the area starting a week before the appointment. Hydrated skin is much easier to tattoo and ink goes in and stays better.

Drink water. Hydrate your skin from the inside out.

Exfoliate leading up to you appointment, avoid it the day before and of the appointment. Ink goes in better if we’re not trying to bust through dead skin.

Avoid caffeine if you can. It makes some people more sensitive to pain.

If you experience a menstrual cycle, you might want to be mindful of when you book. The change in hormones during your period can make you more sensitive to pain.

Question 4

Can I bring someone with me to my appointment?

You are more than welcome to bring a guest with you, we just ask that you keep it to one guest due to space limitations in the shop.

Question 5

Are there any styles you won’t do?

Accepted Answer

I don’t do realism. I do know some amazing realism artists that I can recommend you to.

I don’t do much fine line work and will only do it on arms and legs. I won’t do single needle fine line work.

I don’t do any tribal work.

Question 6

Do you do coverups?

Accepted Answer

Sometimes. It depends on what it is and what you are open to having. I only take ones on that I feel confident I will be able to do a good job. If I don’t feel comfortable with it, I’m happy to recommend any artists that I think could be a good fit.

Question 7

Do you offer touchups?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely! There is a touch up option in my enquiry form. I offer free touch up within a year of the tattoo being completed. 
If you are in for another tattoo at any point, I’m more than happy to go over any other tattoos at the same time.

The only exception is finger tattoos. Due to the nature of high use and cell turnover over of fingers and hands I do not offer free touchups.

Question 8

Do you have experience tattooing melanated skin?

Accepted Answer

I do have some experience tattooing melanated skin and I would love to develop that further, especially with color tattoos. Please don’t be put off by color tattoos if someone told you your skin is too dark because it’s not true. Palettes may be a bit limited but color is possible.
