Do I have to pay a deposit?

Accepted Answer

Yes- all appointments require a deposit.
They are non transferable and non refundable. Have a read on the terms and conditions which also covers all deposit details.

Question 2

Can I bring a friend to my appointment?

Accepted Answer

Generally No , a lot of the time space is limited and can interrupt focus on the work. Occasionally exceptions can be made.

Question 3

When are you working on the design? Can i see it?

Accepted Answer

I tend to work on the designs earlier in the same week as the appointment .

If we’ve had a consultation, ideally we’d have managed to get a very very loose idea sketched out and get an idea of composition. And would have discussed the style and approach to take.

If theres uncertainty, then I’ll send progress images in the days before the appointment, ideally leaving less tweaks on the day.

Question 4

How much will my tattoo cost?

Accepted Answer

In any consultation we’ll set out an estimated cost and time it should take.
With larger pieces there may be a larger variation in the estimate. 
Example- a day session piece thats quite large ,in an awkward location , or if skin is especially reactive may need an extra couple of hours at a later date, but should let you know in advance .

Question 5

What should I wear?

Accepted Answer

Ideally something that you don't mind getting ink on… it can happen.

Please wear items of clothing that allow easy access to the area to be tattooed . Eg- shorts if getting calf tattooed, front clasp bra or buttoned shirt for sternum, vest for upper arm.
Anything that bunches the skin up in the area of the tattoo is generally unsuitable. Eg very tight waistbands when working on the hips/lower abdomen.

For the most part, aim for loose fitting and comfortable.

Question 6

What should I bring?

Accepted Answer

I always recommend some snacks and hydration. Keep your blood sugar up and keep hydrated! This can make a world of difference to your comfort level when getting tattooed.

If you get cold/hot easily, an extra later or a personal fan is adviseable.

If you prefer to focus in the quiet when getting tattooed (no pressure to chat at all if its not comfortable) - a pair of comfy headphones with a music playlist, movie on your phone or a good book can really help.

If wearing headphones, I will still check in every so often to make sure you’re doing ok.

Question 7

What should I do/avoid, before/after my tattoo?

Accepted Answer

Before-
Avoid alcohol for a day or two
Avoid sunbathing / getting sunburn/fake tan (worth considering timings for holidays/time away)
Avoid any blood thinning medication for a couple of days

Do have some filling breakfast the morning of the tattoo.
Do try to rest well the night before 
Do Moisturise regularly in the week before (dont do it on the day if the tattoo)

After-
Avoid direct sun exposure
(Again its worth thinking about holidays that you have booked)
Avoid immersing in water, baths, swimming, steam rooms saunas etc. light showers on the area are fine.
Avoid exposure to dirt/dust/contaminants
Avoid heavy exercise immediately after and perhaps for a couple of days.

Do have a good filling meal afterward
Do have time set aside afterward to relax, get a good nights rest.

Full aftercare instructions will be given during/after the appointment.
