ONCE YOU LEAVE THE STUDIO IT’S YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR NEW TATTOO. SO PLEASE FOLLOW OUR ADVICE :).

GETTING A TATTOO INVOLVES BREAKING THE SKINS SURFACE SO THERE ARE POTENTIAL RISKS OF INFECTION TO OCCUR AFTERWARDS. THIS IS WHY A NEW TATTOO SHOULD BE TREATED AS A WOUND INITIALLY.

HEALING WITH BUTTERLUXE DERMA PROTECT FILM

Your tattoo artist will have cleaned the area and applied the derma protect dressing. Depending on the size of the tattoo, this film can be left on for around 3 days.
You don’t have to do anything with it until the dressing is removed.
Your tattoo will leak under the dressing and you will see ink and plasma liquid build up underneath. Don’t Panic! This is normal and nothing to worry about. If your tattoo leaks a large amount or the dressing is coming away. Remove the dressing after the first 12/24 hours and follow the steps below.
Do not rewrap tattoo with clingfilm after 3 days of wearing the dressing . Once you take the dressing off follow the steps below.
HEALING WITH CLING FILM  – Your tattoo artist will disinfect the tattoo area and cover the skin with cling film after the session is finished. (if we did not use the derma protect dressing method above)

After 4 hours (or the recommended amount of time form your artist) take off the cling film wrap.
Wash: Cleanse the tattoo with antibacterial, unscented soap and lukewarm water to remove the shiny coat that might have formed on top of your tattoo. Be sure to remove as much dried blood and plasma as possible, while still being gentle.
Dry: Allow your tattoo to air dry for 15 minutes. Pat gently with a clean paper towel. Avoid any harsh loofahs, towels or washcloths as they can irritate the skin and transfer bacteria to the area. Ensure that the area is completely dry before applying cream.
Apply a thin layer of aftercare cream. Non irritating lotion such as Butterluxe Tattoo care. We recommend the cream being applied as a thin layer at least 2 / 3 times a day. Every time you reapply the cream you should fully clean off the old cream before reapplying. Using too much cream can harvest bacteria and cause infections. So remember a very thin layer is all thats needed to protect the tattoo. If you feel like it could be infected contact us for advice asap. You should clean the area and stop applying cream. Dry healing is the best thing to do.
Wearing loose cotton clothing is best. Don’t wear anything tight or that would rub on the tattoo. Allow to breathe free of clothing when possible.

Don’t soak the tattoo in water (bathing, swimming), do not expose the tattoo to sunlight, Sun beds, tanning lotion or spray tans for at least 4 weeks.

Avoid picking any scabbing areas. Avoid going to the gym and heavy sweating for the first 3 days after your new tattoo.

Appointment Deposit

All appointments require a non-refundable deposit to secure your booking. This deposit will be deducted from the total cost of your tattoo on the day of your appointment.

Rescheduling
Deposits can be transferred to a new appointment date if you need to rearrange. A minimum of 72 hours notice is required to reschedule your booking.

Cancellations & Late Notice
If you cancel or request to reschedule with less than 72 hours notice, your deposit will be retained as a cancellation fee and a new deposit will be required to book another appointment.

No Shows
Failure to attend your appointment without prior notice will result in the loss of your deposit.

General Policy
By booking an appointment, you agree to these terms and conditions.

Tattoo Design

I will go thought a consultation with each client to gather as much information as I can to develop what the perfect tattoo would be for you. We will then proceed to make a booking and design a piece for you. I can transform basic ideas into the highest quality tattoo possible.

Usually I will send you a design idea before your appointment. This could a couple of days before. Depending on the scale of the tattoo and detail. Sometimes you may see your design on the day of your appointment and small changes can be made.

I also understand that you may change your mind slightly or completely about your design between the booking consultation and the appointment day. This is absolutely fine ! I just kindly ask that you give me at least 48 hours notice before your appointment when changing your mind. This will give me more time to consult with you, redraw and rethink your design. If the new idea does not suit my style of work, unfortunately the appointment will not go ahead, I will recommend another artist.

If your design changes without informing me causing the appointment to be drastically shortened you will still be required to pay for the full sitting originally booked. So just let me know before hand and we can refresh your booking time.

What is the age requirement for a tattoo

18+ is the tattoo requirement in the UK. I may ask for proof of age so please do not be offended if i do. Always bring a valid ID with you to be safe
