How long will I usually wait for a response ?

I answer messages from 9-6 Tuesday Thursday Friday and Saturday. Sometimes due to drawing work or tattooing it can take a little bit longer but I always do my best to respond as soon as possible.

Question 2

Will I see my drawing before my appointment ?

Accepted Answer

Yes! I like you to feel comfortable making changes so you will be sent you drawing the Monday or Tuesday before your appointment.  This does not include simple symbols that I can’t make changes to unless we have discussed a design or style change need.

I make all changes on the Tuesday so please make sure to email me with them before 13:00 on Tuesday.

How do changes to the design work ?

Included in the price you pay for the booking fee is two rounds of revision, a revision is an email or message asking me to make changes. Usually because I have an in depth discussion before drawing the second isn’t needed.

Question 4

Can I bring someone to the studio with me ?

Accepted Answer

Yes you can bring someone with you to your appointment. We just ask that it’s only one person due to space in the studio.

Please don’t bring children (under 18) with you to your appointment.

Question 5

Where can I park?

Accepted Answer

We unfortunately don’t have parking at the studio but if you go to my website there are the closest car parking spaces, bus stop and train information.

Question 6

What health conditions should I let my artist know about?

Accepted Answer

Certain conditions can impact the healing of tattooing,

Diabetes

If you have diabetes that isn’t managed well healing can take longer or not heal well (especially for peripheral tattoos like on the legs and arms) so please make sure your diabetes is managed and you’re in a good state of health before booking. If you’re not sure we recommend that you ask your doctors.

Autoimmune diseases

Autoimmune diseases can impact healing times and if you are currently on immunosuppressants it’s not recommended that you get a tattoo or you should confirm with your doctor first.

Eczema or Psoriasis or other skin conditions.

If you have a current flare of eczema close or in the location of the tattoo we would not be able to tattoo it as this can impact the healing and make the eczema worse.

Use of Blood thinners

Please check with your doctor if it is safe for us to tattoo you while on your dosage of blood thinners, more bleeding can make healing difficult.

Scarring

Please let me know before booking about significant scars as we may need to plan around them.

Keloids scarring

If you have a history of keloid scarring please let me know.

Pregnancy and breast feeding

You can not be tattooed while pregnant or breast feeding because of infection risk.

Question 7

Is the studio accessible ?

Accepted Answer

The studio is all ground floor with no step up to the door and is all on one level, with more than enough space for wheel chair manoeuvrability.

My station can have enough room for a wheel chair with prior notice.

We unfortunately do not have any systems in which to lift someone onto the beds so this is something to take in to consideration when booking but please ask and I will do all I can to make the service accessible to you.

Due to being a multiple artist studio I can’t guarantee a quiet appointment, I am able to close off my station with curtains so if this is something you would prefer please let me know.

Question 8

What is a booking fee and why do I pay it ?

A booking fee is a non refundable portion of payment of your tattoo.

I charge a booking fee for a few reasons to secure your booking, to ensure I’m paid for drawing time if someone doesn’t turn up to their appointments.

What payments do you accept on the day ?

Accepted Answer

I accept cash or bank transfer only, I prefer not to take card payments due to the fees incurred.

Vouchers

Lumina tattoo studio sells vouchers which I accept, these are usually digital so please have the email receipt ready so I can scan it at the appointment. You do not need to tell me before hand if you have a voucher.

What won’t you tattoo?

There’s a few things I won’t tattoo for various reasons

Obviously hate symbols I will not tattoo.

Designs that are too small to heal well.

Pattern work - my brain is not built for pattern work, some small pieces are fine but anything overly complicated would be better suited to another artist.

Finger tattoos - in general I won’t tattoo fingers unless I have tattooed you before and you know how my work heals. This is because healing on fingers is tricky and requires a bit of trust that they will be looked after in the healing stages. They almost always need touch up sessions.

AI

I will always change or redraw any references sent to me this includes AI, the reason for this is I have to be able to draw it to tattoo it so to get the best from your tattoo I have to be able to understand the drawing,
Please feel free to send me your ai inspiration pictures but please understand I will always treat them the same as any other reference.
