📍I am a resident in Manchester City Centre in Northern Quarter. I work at Reign and Hail which is located in Mr Beardmores Barbershop.

I will be opening my own tattoo shop, Kindred Soul Tattoo, in London and will be there from 2027. It will be London's first traditional black female owned tattoo shop in the UK so watch this space

I do guest spots around the UK

💸 How do you charge for tattoos?

So this is a question I get asked a lot. I take into account a lot of details such as style, size, placement, etc.

I generally either charge by the piece, or by the full day session

It is important to note that my rates in Manchester and my Guest Spot rates do differ so please take this into account. It you do have any questions about pricing or are curious on a quote, please just drop me a DM via Instagram/TikTok/Email

🛀 How can I prepare for my appointment?

Once you have booked your appointment, in your client page I have attached Pre Care Instructions for things to consider in the lead up to your appointment

This includes hydration, diet and skin preparations as well

👭 Can I bring a guest/s?

Accepted Answer

Due to the size of the studio, it is preferred to come alone to your appointment.

Any guest will either have to be prepared to be asked to leave if it gets too busy, or to wait in the waiting area.

Guests can also change the trajectory of an appointment (questioning client decisions, putting in their likes and dislikes on a person's body, becoming a back seat driver, making clients move when being tattooed, amping them up, etc) and it's really important that I can have open dialogue with my client without the input of others.

If you do bring someone, it is important it is only one person and for them to be aware they might have to leave

✒️ When will I see the design?

I show all designs on the day of the appointment for privacy and security reasons. Any changes to the design can be made on the day and we can go through them

All designs that you see in my portfolio are done this way and I have very clear boundaries about this. We will not tattoo anything you are not 100% happy with but if your enquiry and details in the enquiry are clear, that will help me create something for you.

If this is something you are not 100% I understand and it might mean I'm not the artist for you if you can't trust this design process

Please note that all designs are based around the enquiries sent through. If you do have changes from the point of enquiry, please make sure to make this known as asap so the design process can run smoothly

Anything major, I need at least a weeks notice otherwise I will need to reschedule and you will need to put down another deposit

🤢❗️What do I do if I need to reschedule?

All reschedules require 72 hours notice but the best thing to do is just message me ASAP so we can rearrange. I can use the same deposit if I get the notice

I allow one reschedule using the same deposit but if further rescheduling is required, it will need a new deposit

No shows are automatically blacklisted and will not be booked further with myself unless the balance of the no showed appointment is paid, and 50% deposit is put down for a new appointment. All clients that no showed are recorded

If you arrive sick/hungover/with skin thats compromised/ you will be sent away and you will lose your deposit

🧴Can I use numbing cream?

Accepted Answer

This depends. I do recommend clients DO NOT use numbing cream.

This is because it change how your skin reacts to how it tattoos and how it heals. It also can effect the precision at which I can work due to the skin being compromised .

Please note that if you do require numbing cream, I only work for up to 2 hours maximum, I don't offer free touch ups, all numbing cream requires a patch test AND if you come in and the skin looks irritated or overly compromised, I wont be able to tattoo you.

If any of these things apply at the appointment, I will not be able to tattoo you and you will lose your deposit

I also require notice if you decide to use numbing cream. If you arrive to your appointment with numbing cream and I haven't been told, I won't be able to tattoo you and you will lose your deposit.

I have numbing agents that I can use during the appointment which are safe

💻Chat GPT and AI, Yay or Nay?

An absolute Nay in my book.

All designs I do are drawn from start to finish and I spend time researching and using and finding references to make custom works for you.

I understand that this might be a way that you find it easier to envision your ideas or articulate them but please refrain from using them. Even if you do a little doodle on some paper, that is SO MUCH BETTER than using these programs

Make sure to look at my work and see how I design and create. If you like the look of it, please trust in the process and understand that I will work to create a custom design for you. If you still feel the need to use these technologies, I might not be the artist for you

Question 9

👪 If I'm struggling with childcare, can I bring my child/ren

Accepted Answer

Unfortunately this is something that I don't allow at all.

The studio is for 18+ and if children or those under the age of 18 are brought to the appointment you will be sent away

I need my clients undivided attention and no matter how good your child is, they can be a distraction as well cause health and safety hazards

DO NOT BRING CHILDREN OR MINORS TO YOUR TATTOO APPOINTMENT!
