How do I look after my tattoo?

You'll be given full aftercare advice at your appointment. We also have aftercare cards available for you to take away if needed. Small bottles of palmer's cocoa butter (one of our recommended creams), are also available to buy at the shop for £3

How close to my holiday can I get tattooed?

We recommend leaving at least 6 weeks for your tattoo to fully heal before going on a beach holiday. This is due to high exposure to the sun, and also swimming in shared water or the sea.

Will I see the design before my appointment?

Yes! You will always be sent your design the night before your appointment. This will give enough time to make any changes, and make sure you're 100% happy with what you're getting.

How should I prepare for my tattoo?

Make sure you always eat a good meal before getting tattooed, and bring a drink to your appointment. It's a good idea to think about what you're wearing so that I can easily access the area we're working on. For example; if you're getting your back tattooed, you can bring a zip up jacket so it can be worn backwards whilst I'm tattooing you. You don't need to shave the area before coming in.

Can I use numbing cream?

Yes. If you would like to use numbing cream for your tattoo, you're more than welcome to. We recommend using a reputable brand such as TKTX. You should always do a patch test before using it to avoid reactions.

Hi! My name's Charl. I've been tattooing for 8 years now, and still love it as much as the first day. Growing up I always had a pencil in my hand, and as soon as I started getting tattoos, I knew it was exactly what I was meant to do. I've owned Sweetheart tattoo parlour with my wife Rosa for 4 years now. We've done everything to make the shop a welcoming, relaxed environment for any and anyone to get tattooed.

I specialise mainly in black and grey realism tattoos, but am open to all styles. Trust me, nothing is too weird and wonderful! I love taking on new projects like sleeves, back pieces, etc. But I also do lots of little tattoos too, down to the tiniest initials.
