This could be due to skin toughness, how well the client sits, the tattoo going bigger on the day then originally planned which could be either at a clients or my discretion, or changes in design etc on the day. I also like to pay attention to very small specific details which may take longer than expected! However taking time to perfect these small details is crucial so your patience and understanding also helps to ensure that I create the perfect tattoo tailored to you!

Question 6

Pre-care ✨

Accepted Answer

•𝐏𝐑𝐄 𝐂𝐀𝐑𝐄 - 𝐏𝐑𝐈𝐎𝐑 𝐓𝐎 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐎𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓•

It’s extremely important that you prepare yourself before the procedure.
Especially for first timers & those sitting longer sessions to ensure your safety during the appointment!
A polite note and a gentle reminder that I can only ever make the tattoo as good as the skin I'm working with.
Every single persons skin is different and there are limitations as to what I can achieve which vary every day depending on my client and skin type. I will always be open and honest with you about this and my designs/ techniques/ inks/ colour palettes etc will always be adjusted accordingly to help try and get the best result for you!

In order to get the best results please look after your skin before and after your tattoo.
𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐚 𝐟𝐞𝐰 𝐭𝐢𝐩𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐤𝐬 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐮𝐩 𝐭𝐨/ 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭:

• 𝐇𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐧- full meal with sugars on the day of the appointment. (the body releases adrenaline when being tattooed- the body needs energy to keep up with that.

• 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐲 𝐡𝐲𝐝𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 the weeks before and after the appointment.

• 𝐇𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐡𝐲𝐠𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐞- I.e wash before (to prevent infection). Scrubbing the area in the shower will get rid of hard/ dead skin.

• I would highly recommend 𝐦𝐨𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 the area you are getting tattooed weeks leading up to the appointment to soften the skin.

• Have a good nights 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭.

All of the above are 𝐜𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 and 𝐛𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 to yourself- insuring your body is ready, energised & clean.
All of the above can have a huge impact on better tattooing outcomes, cleaner work & better healing 🙌🏼

• You can keep the second skin on for 3/4 days after your appointment unless advised otherwise.

• When removing the film, please do under some warm running water (this may be easier in the shower).

• Once the second skin has been removed, clean the area with just warm water, pat dry with kitchen towel, or let it air dry, DO NOT use a towel or any other cloths. Wait 24 hours before you moisturise your tattoo. apply a thin layer, twice a day for up to three weeks after your appointment. Rub throughly into the tattoo to avoid any noticeable excess moisturiser sitting on top of the skin.

𝑨𝒇𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒄𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝑻𝒊𝒑𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑨𝒅𝒗𝒊𝒔𝒆!

Please wait 12 hours before showering( /shower the following day) to allow the film to fully stick down to your skin!

Before removing the second skin you may experience an ink sack, please do not panic or try to burst this, and send over an image so I can further advise on what to do next!
If you have any sticky residue left after peeling, please do not attempt to scrub it off, it will come off eventually with showering and moisturising

Question 8

Aftercare - Clingfilm ✨

• Remove the clingfilm a minimum of 1 hour after your tattoo and, with clean hands, gently rinse your tattoo with warm water, removing any plasma and ink residue. Do not use any soap unless it is unscented and has been approved by myself. Only rewrap if advised too

• Once removed let your tattoo air dry or pat dry with a kitchen towel. (Do not use a bath towel/flannel/tissue)

• Once dry, wait 24/48 hours before you proceed to cream it with an un-fragranced moisturiser. I personally would recommend Palmers coco butter, but any unperfumed moisturiser that doesn’t cause your skin any irritation should be fine too.

** 𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘦 𝘢𝘷𝘰𝘪𝘥 𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘣𝘦𝘱𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮 𝘰𝘳 𝘢𝘯𝘺 𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘰𝘰 𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘮 𝘱𝘶𝘳𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘴𝘦𝘥 𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘯𝘦𝘵, 𝘶𝘯𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘐 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘢𝘥𝘷𝘪𝘴𝘦𝘥 𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘸𝘪𝘴𝘦. **

• Apply cream to your tattoo 2 - 3 times a day unless advised otherwise, And rub throughly into the tattoo to avoid any noticeable excess moisturiser sitting on top of the skin.

* if you feel your tattoo is proceeding to scab up despite applying the cream at the advised amount, apply the moisturiser little but often to ensure no heaving scabbing occurs.

• 𝑫𝒐 𝒏𝒐𝒕, pick or itch the tattoo. This could cause ink drop out due to the tattoo not being fully saturated into the skin during the healing process, which may result in requiring a touch up. This could also lead to scarring, which then can take longer to heal.

𝑨𝒇𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒄𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝑻𝒊𝒑𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑨𝒅𝒗𝒊𝒔𝒆!

• Try and wear breathable clothing
• No hot tubs, swimming pools, saunas, steam rooms, sunbeds, or sun exposure for up to three weeks after your appointment.
• Showers are fine to use afterwards, just make sure you throughly rinse the area making sure no soapy residue remains on the tattoo.

Please feel free to message me should you have any questions regarding your aftercare! And any update photos during the healing process are more than welcome!

Thank you for choosing and trusting in me with your new body art! ☺️✨
