What time do sessions start and end, and what is the schedule for the day?

Sessions will begin at 11am, where you will arrive, sign in and we will chat about the design.

Once the design is ready to go, we will have a roughly 45 minute break for me to set up, print stencils and get my ink colours picked out. In this time you're more than welcome to wait in our lounge or you may leave the studio to grab coffee, snacks, or a go for a quick walk. I'll let you know when to return!

Once we begin tattooing, we will work at our own pace, whatever that is. You're welcome to have a lunch break whenever you're hungry, we have a microwave at the studio if you want to heat anything up, or a wide array of food options you're more than welcome to order in.

Your session end time can be estimated at the beginning of the day, but my time limit usually lies around 6PM at the latest. Especially during two day sessions, you may not finish at this time but the tattoos are priced by piece and not time to try not to panic if you go over or under time. Two day sessions usually consist of one longer day where the finish will be around 5-6PM and a shorter day that may end around 3-4PM, but this is only rough guidance.

During the tattoo, I really like to listen to audiobooks whilst I work whenever possible. I find that without, sometimes I can be too much of a yapper and unfortunately, I talk with my hands so I do tend to add delays to the tattoo time. However, if you'd prefer to chat or don't feel comfortable with that, I love to chat! just let me know!

Question 2

Do you have parking?

We have a car park directly outside the shop, and you will be able to see your vehicle from the studio windows. Please note that this has a small charge and is camera operated independent to us. You will have 10 minutes free parking when you arrive to sort the fee before it charges you.

The app is 'Just Park' and the location is 86202 Fleming Square, Blackburn BB2 2DG.

The app will allow a certain amount of hours and will text you to remind you to extend it when that runs out after about 4 hours.

Can I get to the studio via public transport?

Yes! we are a 3 minute walk from both Blackburn train station and the bus station.

Question 4

What shall I bring with me?

-A valid form of ID

-The remaining sum of your tattoo, in an envelope or slip of paper for cash. Please note we do not have a card reader!

-Snacks and anything to keep yourself comfortable. Make sure to bring something sugary to keep you going. We do have a free to use snack trolley and toiletries box in the bathroom available to all clients.

-Headphones, a book, or anything else you may want to entertain yourself

-A friend if you like, but we do limit one guest per person (no under 18’s)

-Appropriate clothing for the area being tattooed to change into

-Your usual aftercare creams or butters

-Yourself, with a full stomach and in a good mood

Question 5

What aftercare do you recommend?

I usually will offer second skin film as a preferred method.

With second skin, you can keep the patch applied at the studio on for up to 5-7 days. The adhesive tends to stick best if you can avoid getting it wet for the first 24 hours. After that, consider yourself splash proof and not waterproof. You can shower as normal, but try to avoid soaking the area in the bath, or doing the washing up for around the lower arm. If you get a hole or a leak in the film, take it off immediately and do not try to patch it up - if its been open to the elements, you don't want to risk getting anything trapped under there with it for a prolonged period of time by patching it.

Second skin is not always appropriate, and will not be used for the night in-between consecutive day sessions. If you're allergic to medical adhesives or plasters, or feel you would have a sensory issue with the ink sack that forms under second skin, we recommend tattoos armour, same with the overnight between sessions. Tattoo armour is an absorbent pad that can be replaced every 6-10 hours to keep your tattoo protected. We will provide this for you for the night between sessions, and for leaving the studio, however we cannot supply you for the healing time afterwards. If you'd like to go this route for healing, you can order tattoo armour online, one pack should be sufficient. If you're not sure, just reach out to me for guidance!

Question 6

How long does one of your pieces on your profile take, and how big will it be?

For the pieces on my page, I usually recommend a two day sitting. This can be either consecutive or with time in-between for healing. I would recommend 3 weeks or more between sessions.

With this time I can complete a piece around A4 size.

I have started doing the two day sittings because I feel my single day sessions were not adequate time for the tattoos to be large enough for the detail I want to be able to produce. If you feel your tattoo will be an exception, please contact me for more help!

What is your wait list like?

Generally, my wait list sits at around 12-18 months, so expect a wait!

cancellations often do come up, but unfortunately I can't promise them to anybody individually. With a long wait, almost every new booking asks for cancellations, so to keep it fair they will always go on my instagram story first on a first come first served basis, they are often short notice, but reduced in price.

Question 8

How much is the booking fee, and is it refundable?

Most booking fees are £100 upon booking unless the tattoo is under £250 in value, in which case it is £50.

Question 9

Do I get to see my design before the day?

Accepted Answer

I work on a moodboard system for designs. This basically means that I do not show the entire and completed design until the day of the appointment.

I know that can be daunting, but I do have different measures in place to make sure we're both on the same page. With the moodboard system, you have unlimited contact with me before your appointment where I am happy to look at separate images and discuss your design in as little or as much detail as you'd like, at any time. More detail and direction means more control, and less means I will fill in the gaps and use my own artistic interpretation of your idea. There is no right or wrong way, nor a preferred way from me. Im happy to work both ways!

On the day of your appointment, you will be the only person I will have to work with that day. This means that we can spend as long as you need during the morning consultation to make any changes to your design, and there will be no rush from me.

This is for a few reasons but mostly it is to have better control of my time so I can design in order of appointments, to avoid outside influence on you and your design and to avoid the piece being tattooed elsewhere. Whilst I do trust my clients, this last one does happen unfortunately.

I find that being able to make these changes in person leads to a better outcome for both of us!

Question 10

Can I move my appointment if something comes up?

I am always happy to reschedule an appointment once with no questions asked and no new deposit outside of the 72 hour window. If you need to reschedule more than once or at late notice, your deposit may be subject to the terms in my policies about booking fees.
