My name is Kym Mitchell and I have been tattooing for nearly 14 years, but the path really began when I was just 15 years old. Sitting beside my dad as he got inked, I felt an immediate connection to the art form and knew without doubt that tattooing was what I wanted to do with my life. College became more of a way to fill the time while I eagerly waited for the chance to begin my journey. On my 18th birthday in August, I finally stepped into a studio for the first time, though I didn’t tattoo anyone until the following May. That long wait gave me patience, discipline, and respect for the craft. Since then, tattooing has grown into both my career and lifelong passion.
